BACKGROUND
Founded in 1998 in Capurso, Bari, Mitica Food was later subsumed in 2003 by Grani & Partners and therefore became part of the Preziosi Group. The subsequent launch of the Salati Preziosi brand contributed to the growth and strengthening of the company.
Production capacity increased in 2004 with the unveiling of a new premises in Melfi, Potenza. Extending across 12,000 square meters, the factory’s capacity was now running at 400,000 bags of product per day.
That’s why Preziosi Food - established on July 2008 (Salati Preziosi and Dolci Preziosi brands) - chose Mitica Food as its exclusive producer for its chips and salted snaks commercialised under the Salati Preziosi brand.
Mitica Food complies with UNI EN ISO 9001:2000 - ISO 14.000 regulatory requirements and its production processes follow a system allowing the continuous monitoring of the company’s standards.
No anti-foaming agents or other invasive products are used during the production process and the recipes - simple and traditional - consist of only the highest quality ingredients, such as potatoes carefully selected for their organoleptic characteristics, GM-free corn and oil specifically chosen to ensure a stable frying process to obtain lighter and more crispy chips.
